There is an argument to be made that Alaska Airlines’ loyalty program is the business greatest.
Offsetting its relatively modest size, Alaska has cobbled advertising partnerships together with 16 airlines, serving more than 900 destinations. Which is great for members of Mileage Plan: They can earn miles and take award flights on American Air France, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Delta, JAL, KLM, Qantas, and several others.
As striking as this record is, its partner roster isn’t what provides Mileage Plan its value advantage over apps that are rival. Rather, it’s the adherence to conventional rules that are mileage-earning of the program. Mileage Plan members still earn flight miles in line with the distance flown, rather than according to the cost of their tickets. For the average traveler, Mileage Plan delivers flights that are free, faster, at less cost.
If you’re already a Mileage Plan member, the program’s strengths should be reason to sign up. However, there’s yet another reason: bonus miles for new members.
New Mileage Plan members who enroll in the program between April 30 and March 23 and also finish a trip will make a 5,000-mile bonus.
And yet another reason to take advantage of this offer: It is likely to be the offer for Mileage Plan members.
