Summer hotel promotions from the significant hotel chains are a mixed bag, from ho-hum to possibly game-changing. This offer from Starwood falls somewhere in the center.
Offer Details
Between May 27 and September 4, Starwood Preferred Guest members can earn double points for weekday stays (such as a Friday or Saturday night) of two or more nights, and triple points for weekend stays of a couple of nights at participating locations. In addition, holders of the Starwood credit card may earn 1,500 bonus points per stay.
Registration is required, and is open start now.
Offer or No Deal
Factors is probably just enough to maintain Starwood loyalists. Triple points might be a game-changer for travelers about where to book their summer stays around the fence.
The stay will be a deal-breaker for many.
Along with also the “at participating locations” qualifier is not only rhetorical legalese here; there are indeed hotels which are not supplying the bonuses, and travelers will have to consult with the extended lists of eligible hotels to confirm that their stays will earn the bonuses. That’s a negative for both value and advantage.
